So I made red velvet cupcakes from scratch recently. They turned out fairly well. They were quite tasty.
Except the colour was a rusty pink rather than the deep red that is associated with red velvet cake. I used beet juice for the colour instead of the synthetic food colouring. It’s more natural… but not as “pretty”.
